Our Story

When Ivie was around three years old, she started drawing stick figures; by that time, she was learning the basics of the human anatomy, such as arms, legs, eyes, nose, ears, etc., and she had a good concept of it; other than missing the torso. Her drawings started with just heads and legs, and then she formed the arms and fingers (she was very detailed about the fingers; there were always five fingers on each hand; she never missed that). After a while, she kept drawing her figures more constructively but still without a torso. And so this became her thing, and that's how we created Flucos - the imagination of a child with support from her dad. Initially, as a parent, I did what most parents do when their children start making drawings and leaving lots of papers around the house; I would clean it up after she was done and toss out most of her work, so, unfortunately, I probably missed some of her best work. Still, I saved some of her drawings that I used as a guide and gave me the s point to put things together. I had no experience in the shirt industry, so I had to figure out how to make this dream a reality. It took me almost two years of learning, planning, trying, failing, trying again, and repeating the failing process a few more times until I could finally get something right. Still, the reward I got was priceless: seeing the smile on her face when she first wore a Flucos shirt. She was happy and excited when someone told her they liked her shirt, and she would proudly say: "my dad made it for me." Ivie always shared her things; even though she is the only child, she has always been good at sharing, and it was no different with her shirts, so it didn't take long until she came to me and said: "Dad, I want you to make shirts to all my friends, I want everyone to have a shirt like mine." It's a big responsibility she put on me, but I took it lightly and have been putting in extra hours to make some of it happen. By sharing a little of our story, we hope to inspire others and spread that happy feeling we got when we created this brand.
